The following are the network access requirements for cameras connecting to the VIAAS Service. Only these outbound connections are required.
TCP 443 (HTTPS) and UDP 123 (NTP) to camera-access.viaas.com
Addresses for camera-access.viaas.com are essentially static (so may be hardcoded by IP). Currently those addresses are:
- 34.234.250.238
- 54.82.154.196
- 54.83.20.242
- 54.83.27.219
The cameras use HTTPS for all non-NTP server communication. The camera must have an accurate system time, otherwise connections may be rejected during the SSL handshake. The connections use client certificates, so you must bypass SSL inspection for all camera traffic (note that a small number of manufacturers, such as Fortinet/Fortigate, recommend or configure deep SSL inspection by default).
NTP traffic is not encrypted.
